Skylight Removal & Roof Patch in Jewett City, CT

Skylight Removal & Roof Patch in Jewett City, CT

Skylight removal and roof patch service in Jewett City, CT is for skylights you no longer want. Some leak every winter no matter how many times they are resealed. Some heat up a bedroom every summer. Some sit where solar panels are going. Removing the skylight and closing the roof is a clean, permanent answer.

Jewett City, CT Skylight Repair strips the shingles around the unit, pulls the skylight and flashing, and removes the curb if there is one. We frame the opening with lumber that matches the rafter size, sheath it with new plywood the same thickness as the existing deck, and lay underlayment and ice and water membrane over the patch.

Then we weave new shingles into the existing courses. Older roofs fade, so a patch may look slightly different at first. We match the shingle line and color as close as we can find.

Inside, the old light shaft can be framed over and drywalled flat, or insulated and closed at the ceiling line. We make sure the attic insulation gets filled back in over the old opening.
